Assistance in material support NCSH “OKHMATDYT”
The project is divided into three directions, as these departments are located on different floors and they have different support requirements.
1 direction: special care baby unit.
2 direction: unit of the intensive nursing and early rehabilitation of newborns with perinatal pathology.
3 direction: Unit of intensive nursing of extremely premature children.
Each department has about 25 places for babies, around 300 babies’ passes through the neonatology unit per year from all Ukraine, because here work some of the best specialists. But, unfortunately, the department is not fully provided all necessary and we are trying to help them with this in order to save as many baby’s lives as possible. Social worker constantly monitors what is needed for department and we buy what is possible and transfer to them. We already purchased pulse oximetry sensors, with which you can monitor vital functions of a child, the patient cable to them, cots for babies, medicine, food, diapers, masks, gowns, antiseptics, changing towels. This is only small part of the necessary, so any help will not be valuable. Help in the treatment of HIV / AIDS
The department receives babies with HIV-positive status from all Ukraine, who have very difficult condition for the development of other diseases, because their immune system is weakened by the presence of HIV. Here they are nursed, if necessary they are operated and receiving all the necessary treatment. In average the department has more than 10 children on usual basis and all of them really need support and care, because they are from generally very poor and needy families.
Our task is as much as possible to provide the department with all necessary things to treat these children. Social worker constantly monitors what they need and we buy what is possible and transfer (medicines, equipment, food, yogurt, sweets). You can come to play, to have fun, to read with them, because they are normal children, but only with immunodeficiency.
